Jacare Souza set to face Yoel Romero at UFC 194 in Las Vegas Dec.12
It has been confirmed by MMA reporter Adam Hill that Middleweights Ronaldo Jacare Souza and Yoel Romero are set to do battle at UFC 194 in Las Vegas at the MGM December 12th, a card that will also feature Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold in the co main event.
The two were originally slated to square off at UFC 184 but Souza was forced to withdraw from the bout with pneumonia. The pairing was then set for UFC on FOX 15 but Romero pulled out of the bout due to a ligament and meniscus tear in his knee.
Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza has a MMA record of 22-3 and has won four out of his last four fight in the UFC. Jacare hold notable wins over Robbie Lawler, Tim Kennedy, Gegard Mousasi and Yushin Okami. Jacare’s most recent win was against Chris Camozzi where he won via submission arm bar in round 1 at UFC on FOX 15.
Yoel Romero has a MMA record of 10-1 and has also won four out of his last four fights in the UFC. Romero holds wins over Tim Kennedy, Brad Tavares and Derek Brunson. Romero’s most recent win was against former Light-Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida via KO elbows at UFC Fight Night 70 this past June.
