UFC have confirmed that top middleweight contender Yoel Romero has been flagged for a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation.
Below is the statement from the UFC.
‘UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) informed Yoel Romero of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection.
USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Romero. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.’
The Cuban born middleweight Yoel Romero who trains out of American Top Team has a MMA record of 11–1 and a UFC record of 7-0. His most recent win was a split decision victory at UFC 197 over Jacare Souza at UFC 194 this past December.
