Its been confirmed on the weigh in broadcast that Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley will defend his belt against Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson at UFC 205, which will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York November 12th.
Tyron Woodley did previously dismiss a potential fight against Stephen Thompson in favour of a ‘money fight’ with either Nick Diaz or Georges St. Pierre but it seems like Thompson got his wish.
Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley has an MMA record of (16-3) and a UFC record of (6-2). He is coming off a 3 fight win streak. Woodley holds notable wins over Josh Koscheck, Kelvin Gastelum, Carlos Condit and Don Hyun Kim. His latest win was over Robbie Lawler via 1st round KO at UFC 201 to win the welterweight championship this past July.
