The UFC heads for Fort Lauderdale in Florida this weekend with Middleweights ‘Jacare’ Souza and Jack Hermansson headlining the event. It has had a fair amount of changes made to this card. The main event was originally set as Jacare & Romero 2, but the solider of God, Yoel Romero was forced to pull out of the rematch due to a mild case phenomena. In enters Jack Hermansson who will step up on just three weeks notice.
Fighting out of Oslo Norway, the Swedish Middleweight and former Cage Warriors champion is currently 6-2 in the UFC. He is riding a three fight win streak, with his latest being a 49sec submission win over David Branch in March. Now with four 1st round finishes in his UFC career, Hermansson will face his first top 5 opponent on just three weeks notice. This comes as the perfect opportunity for Hermansson to put himself on the map but could also be the toughest test in his career to date.
Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza has long been a top Middleweight and currently sits at No. 4 in the division. His record is 26-6-1 and is coming off a third round knockout victory over former champion Chris Weidman at UFC 230 in November. Eager to get a shot at the title, this fight may be seen as high risk, low reward for the Brazilian but according to ‘Jacare’, a title shot will be on the cards with a win on Saturday.
