The UFC returns to Anaheim, California this weekend with a stacked card full of exciting matchups.
In the main event, Daniel Cormier puts his UFC heavyweight title on the line against former champion Stipe Miocic as they go head to head for a second time.
Their first outing saw Daniel Cormier capture the heavyweight title by knocking out Stipe Miocic in the first round to become a two division champion. Daniel Cormier became one of very few champions to hold two titles from two different weight classes at the same time when he made history that night.
Now with only one title around his waist, Daniel Cormier will defend his heavyweight title for a second time since successfully defeating Derrick Lewis via second round submission at UFC 230 back in November.
But Stipe Miocic is eager to take back what he believes is truly his and he returns back to the octagon this weekend having spent a year away following his loss to Daniel Cormier.
During his reign as UFC heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic held the record for the most consecutive title defenses in the history of the division by defeating Alistair Overeem, Junior Dos Santos and Francis Ngannou.
This time around will surely make it out of the first round, but when it comes to heavyweights at such an elite level, anything can happen.
Also returning this weekend is fan favourite Nate Diaz. The Stockton native has been away from the octagon since his loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in August 2016. He will take on former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis who unlike Diaz is coming off a recent KO win over Stephen Thompson back in May. Pettis made the move to 170lbs following his TKO loss to Tony Ferguson at UFC 229 in October last year. He will look to improve his winning streak to 2-0 with a win over Nate Diaz this weekend.
