Ariel Helwani broke the news Friday night that former Interim Lightweight champion Tony Ferguson will return against Donald Cerrone this June in Chicago.
Tony Ferguson has been on the sidelines since suffering with his mental health. Now cleared to fight, he will be looking to get back into the mix for a shot at the Lightweight championship.
His last fight was at UFC 229 in October against former Lightweight champion Anthony Ferguson. He won the bout via second round TKO, earning him a performance of the night bonus. He is currently on an eleven fight win streak with finishes over Kevin Lee, Lando Vannata and Edson Barboza.
For Donald Cerrone this will be a quick turnaround having fought Al Iaquinta to a unanimous decision at UFC Ottawa this May. He is currently on a three fight win streak and make the move back to Lightweight in January this year.
This fight will take place at the United Center in Chicago and is headlined by Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes for the UFC Bantamweight title.
