Stipe Miocic to defend his UFC Heavyweight title against Francis Ngannou at UFC 220

The UFC have confirmed that Francis Ngannou will challenge UFC Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 220 this January 20th in Boston.

Francis Ngannou (11-1) is coming off a phenomenal first round KO victory over Alistair Overeem at ufc 218 this December earning him a shot at the Heavyweight title. Francis Ngannou made his UFC debut back in 2015 and has finished all of his six opponents within the second round. He holds 7 out of his 11 total wins via KO/TKO and has never made it past the third round.

Stipe Miocic (17-2) won the UFC Heavyweight title back in 2016 when he defeated Fabricio Werdum via first round KO at UFC 198. Since then he has gone on to defend his title two times against Alistair Overeem and Junior dos Santos, both wins coming via TKO/KO in the first round. Stipe Miocic currently holds 11 of his 17 total wins via TKO/KO and will make his third title defence at UFC 220 when he takes on Francis Ngannou.

This card also features another title fight between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier and Volkan Oezdemir.
