Ronda Rousey makes her WWE debut at the Royal Rumble

After months of speculation, former UFC Womens Batamweight Champion Ronda Rousey finally made her WWE debut at the Royal Rumble this week.

In a surprise appearance, Ronda Rousey made her first walk out after the first women’s Royal Rumble to come face to face with WWE Superstars Charlotte Flair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss. Pointing to the Wrestlemania sign, she made her intentions to feature on the promotions biggest show of the year very clear. She left the ring to make amends with Stephanie McMahon by shaking her hand in what will be the start of her new career as a full time WWE superstar.

“This is my life now,” Ronda Rousey told ESPN. “They have first priority on my timeline for the next several years, this is not a smash and grab, this is not a publicity stunt. When I first met with Triple H I told him, there are other things I can do with my time that will make me way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.”

Rousey made her first appearance in the WWE at WrestleMania 31 in March 2015 and again more recently during ‘The Mae Young Classic’ in which her friend and former ‘Horsewomen’ Shayna Baszler competed in before eventually signing with the promotion.

“It’s funny, it’s kind of like acting, in that it was something I always wanted to do but I never thought was in the cards for me,” Rousey ESPN. “And now that I realize I really do have this opportunity, I feel like my 6 year old self would totally kick my ass if I didn’t take it.”
