UFC confirmed today that former Featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas is set to do battle against Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night in Monterrey, Mexico November 21st. This card is headlined by welterweight Matt Brown and Kelvin Gastelum.
Diego Sanchez has fought in multiple weight divisions including the Middleweight, Welterweight, Lightweight and will now be making his debut as a Featherweight. Diego Sanchez is also the only TUF 1 vet who is still actively competing in the UFC.
Diego Sanchez has a MMA record of 25-7 and has currently won two out of his last four fights in the UFC. Sanchez’s most recent win was a Lightweight fight against the brit Ross Pearson, where he won a controversial split decision at UFC Fight Night 42 back in June 2014.
Ricardo Lamas has a MMA record of 15-4 and has also won two out of his last four fight in the UFC. Lamas most recent fight was against Chad Mendes, where he lost via TKO punches in Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 63.
