Pettis vs. Alvarez, Browne vs. Mitrione & Herman vs. Boetsch at UFC Fight Night Boston Jan.17

It was confirmed on UFC Tonight that two lightweight will do battle as Anthony Pettis is set to take on Eddie Alvarez in the co-main event at UFC Fight Night Boston January 17th. This card will be headlined by Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw and former champion Dominick Cruz.

The former UFC/WEC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis has a MMA record of 18–3 and has won three out of his last four fights. Pettis holds notable wins over Gilbert Melendez, Benson Henderson, Jeremy Stephens, Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon. His latest fight was a lightweight bout against Rafael Dos Anjos where he lost via unanimous decision at UFC 185 back in March.

The former Bellator MMA Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez has a MMA record of 26-4 and has won three out of his last four fights. Alvarez holds notable wins over Roger Huerta, Pat Curran, Shinya Aoki and Michael Chandler. Alvarez latest fight was a win against former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Gilbert Melendez via unanimous decision at UFC 188 this past June.

Also confirmed on the card will be two heavyweights going to war as Travis Browne will take on Matt Mitrione.

Another fight confirmed for UFC Fight Night Boston will be Ed Herman against Tim Boetsch which will be a Light-Heavyweight bout. This may come to a surprise to many as both fighters usually fight at Middleweight.
