Nick Diaz to return against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 235

It has been reported by Brett Okomoto of ESPN that Nick Diaz will return to the octagon against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 235, March 2.

Nick Diaz (26-9-2) has been out of action since January 2015. He last fought Anderson Silva at UFC 183 but was fined and suspended for 18 months due to a failed drugs test. He was then suspended further for not disclosing his whereabouts to USADA and was finally eligible to return in April of this year.

Jorge Masvidal (32-13) is returning after a year away from the octagon. He last fought in November 2017 when he lost to Stephen Thompson by decision at UFC 217. This made it two consecutive losses after coming up short against Demian Maia at UFC 211. He is 2-2 in his last four fights with his two wins both coming via TKO stoppage.

UFC 235 takes place at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, March 2. This fight is close to being finalised by the UFC but according to Brett Okomoto, the contracts are yet to be signed.
