UFC President Dana White has announced that Nate Diaz will make his return against former Lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.
Nate Diaz has been away since his loss to Conor McGregor in the rematch, back at UFC 202 in 2016. Previously to that, Diaz had won the first fight against McGregor by second round submission. Diaz had been matched up with Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 but the bout did not materialise.
His opponent Anthony Pettis is coming off a second round KO win over Stephen Thompson in his Welterweight debut this March. Previously to that, Pettis had gone 2-2 in his return to the Lightweight division.
This fight will take place at 170lbs and will co-headline UFC 241 in Anaheim, California August 17. The event is headlined by Daniel Cormier vs Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight championship.
