Max Holloway Wins UFC Interim Featherweight Title at UFC 206

Max Holloway scored a TKO victory over former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 206, becoming the new UFC interim Featherweight champion.

After the first round, Pettis told his corner that he broke his hand. He told Joe Rogan in the octagon, “The first punch, the first right hand I hit him with hit him on top of the head broke my right hand.”

After a bad weight cut and missing weight by three pounds, Pettis said that his time at 145lbs is over and will be going back to 155lbs. “I was dying from the weight cut, they literally had to pull me out of the sauna,” he said. “I depleted my body, so it’s too much of a cut.”

Max Holloway on the other hand, took to the mic to call out the champ Jose Aldo after his third round TKO victory. “I asked you guys earlier in the week, we couldn’t find Aldo so I started calling him Waldo, Jose Waldo, hashtag Jose Waldo and tell him to meet me in Brooklyn in February” He said. “Lets get the real one”. Now with ten straight wins in a row, Max Holloway will have his eyes set on unifying the belt with a bout against the current champion Jose Aldo in the new year.
