Max Holloway vs Frankie Edgar is in the works for UFC 240, taking place July 27. This news was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN and will see the Featherweight champion Max Holloway return back to 145lbs.
Max Holloway last fought at UFC 236 this past April against Dustin Poirier for the Interim Lightweight title. He lost the bout via unanimous decision which put a stop to an impressive 13 fight win streak. He will now return to defend his Featherweight title for a third time this July.
Frankie Edgar is coming off a recent unanimous decision victory over Cub Swanson this past April. Previously to that, Edgar suffered a first round KO loss to Brian Ortega back at UFC 222 in March. He has won three out of his last four bouts since losing to Jose Aldo for the Interim Featherweight title back in 2016.
This fight is yet to be made official but is expected to take place at UFC 240 in Edmonton, Canada.
