It has been reported by MMAJunkie that the UFC Featherweight title fight against Champion Max Holloway and Brian Ortega has been verbally agreed for UFC 231.
This will mark the second time this title fight has been booked as the previous fight was cancelled on short notice due to Holloway falling ill with concussion like symptoms.
Now fit to compete, Max Holloway (19-3) will make his second title defence since unifying the title with a win over the former champ Jose Aldo at UFC 212. He then went on to rematch Aldo in his first title defence, taking away a TKO finish for the second time.
Brian Ortega (14-0-1) has been out on the sidelines since the cancellation of their first title fight scheduled for UFC 226 in July. He last stepped in the octagon at UFC 222 in march when he defeated Frankie Edgar by first round KO. Brian Ortega is currently undefeated and holds notable wins over Cub Swanson and Clay Guida.
This fight has been verbally agreed to take place at UFC 231 in Toronto, Dec. 8.
