Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua will take on Corey Anderson at UFC 198 in Curitiba Brazil, May 14th. Rua was originally expected to face Rashad Evans at UFC on FOX 19, April 16th but was forced out of the bout due to injury.
Mauricio Rua has an MMA record of 23-10 and a UFC record of 7-8. He is coming off a win over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 190 last August. This was the second time the two fought, with Rua walking away with another decision victory. Prior to his recent win, Rua had suffered two straight losses, both by TKO. He has won two out of his last four bouts.
Corey Anderson has an MMA record of 8-1 and a UFC record of 5-1. He is coming off a recent decision win over Tom Lawler at UFC 196 this March. He suffered his first and only loss to Gian Villante by round 3 TKO in April last year. He is currently on a three fight win streak.
