Marloes Coenen vs Julia Budd for the first Bellator Women’s Featherweight Title

Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd will square off at Bellator 174 for the first ever Bellator women’s Featherweight title, March 3rd.

Former Strikeforce Bantamweight Champion Marloes Coenen (23-7) made her Bellator debut at Bellator 130 in 2014. She won the debut by third round submission over Annalisa Bucci. She won her next bout by submission at Bellator 141 then suffered a recent loss to Alexis Dufresne at Bellator 155 this past May. Having previously fought in the women’s promotion Invicta FC and falling short of the Invicta Featherweight title, she is looking to capture the first Bellator 145lbs belt this March, but first she must get past Julia Budd.

Julia Budd (9-2) is currently undefeated in the Bellator promotion having won all three bouts by decision. Having also competed in Invicta FC and Strikeforce, her two losses are to former UFC Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and current UFC Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes. Currently riding a seven fight win streak, Julia Budd will have her eyes set on capturing her first championship belt.

Bellator 174 will take place at the WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Additional bouts will be added in the coming weeks.
