Mark Hunt says he will not fight Overeem without a Clause

Mark Hunt vs Alistair Overeem has been announced by the UFC and is set for UFC 209, March 4th in Las Vegas.

Mark Hunt however has said that he will not go ahead without a Clause protecting himself from cheaters. “My Clause will protect me in this instance and take the financial gain of the opponent of caught cheating” Mark Hunt told MarkHunt.TV.

Mark Hunt last fought at UFC 200 when he lost to Brock Lesnar. Lesnar later tested positive for both an in competition and out of competition drugs tests that saw him suspended for one year and fined $250,000. The result of the fight was overturned and changed to a no contest.





Since this time, Mark Hunt has been very vocal about his thought’s on cheaters and felt he deserved to receive a percentage of Lesnar’s $2.5million purse. “I’m pushing for this Clause,” Hunt said. “I want to fight and I am ready. If the fight doesn’t go ahead it’s not my doing.”

Overeem and Hunt previously fought in the promotion Dream back in 2008. Hunt lost the bout by 1st round submission. “I couldn’t have beaten a wooden chair at that time in my life,” Mark said. “I’ve never lost a rematch and I’m not about to”.
