Luke Rockhold has suffered multiple injuries and is out of his rematch against Chris Weidman in the co-main event at UFC 230.
According to Ariel Helwani, Luke Rockhold broke his nose grappling, sprained his right knee and was suffering from an infection in his left shin.
Luke Rockhold last fought back in February when he suffered a KO loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 221. He was targeted to face Alexander Gustafsson this past August but was unable to compete due to injury.
Ronaldo ’Jacare’ Souza (25-6-1) will now step in to face Chris Weidman. He was originally scheduled to face David Branch but Branch will now take on Jared Cannonier. Jacare last fought in May, losing via split decision to Kelvin Gastelumn at UFC 224. Previously to that, Jacare had got himself back in the win column by knocking out Derek Brunson in the main event at UFC on FOX 27 back in January.
I am focused on this fight. I’ll be at MSG on Nov 3. Doesn’t matter who they put in front of me. I’m getting my belt back. My management and ufc will figure the rest out.
