UFC newcomer Darrell Horcher will replace injured Tony Ferguson to face Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC on FOX 19 in Tampa, April 16th. According to the UFC, the bout will take place at a catchweight of 160lbs and will no longer main event the card.
Khabib Nurmagomedov (22-0) recently suffered a rib injury that saw him withdraw from his last scheduled bout with Ferguson at the TUF 22 Finale this past December. Prior to that Khabib also suffered a knee injury so has’nt fought since his last fight against now Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos. He won that bout by decision back in April 2014.
Darrell Horcher (13-1) will be making his UFC debut on short notice. He has a total of 3 fights in MMA promotion Bellator going 3-1. After his time in Bellator Horcher won all five of his last fights in the promotion Cage Fury Fighting Championships, winning the vacant Cage Fury belt in February 2015 when he won the bout by 3rd round TKO. He defended the lightweight belt by another 3rd round TKO in his last fight back in October 2015.
This card will now be headlined by a bout between Glover Teixeira and Rashad Evans.
