Khabib Nurmagomedov to face Tony Ferguson at TUF 22 Finale Dec.11 in Las Vegas

It was confirmed by LA News Reporter Brian Martin that Lightweight’s Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson are set to square off at the TUF Finale in Las Vegas at  the MGM December 11th. Head of UFC PR Dave Sholler confirmed that this is not the main event for the TUF 22 Finale.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has a MMA record of 22-0 and a UFC record of 6-0. Nurmagomedov has not fought in the octagon since 2014. He was scheduled to take on Donald Cerrone at UFC 187 but he pulled out of the bout on April 30 due to a knee injury and was replaced by John Makdessi. Nurmagomedov latest win was against current UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos via unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 11 back in April 2014.

TUF 13 winner Tony Ferguson has a MMA record of 19-3 and has won four out of his last four fights. Ferguson hold notable wins over Ramsey Nijem, Yves Edwards, Gleison Tibau and Abel Trijillo. Ferguson’s most recent win was against the new Bellator MMA signee Josh Thomson via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 71 this past July.
