Khabib Nurmagomedov jumps the cage after UFC 229 win resulting in chaos between both teams

The rivalry between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor has escalated to new levels. The lead up to UFC 229 has been personal between the two fighters and it didn’t end on Saturday night. Shortly after Khabib Nurmagomedov tapped out Conor McGregor in the fourth round, he jumped the cage and attacked Conor McGregor’s team mate Dillion Danis. During the Broadcast, commentator Joe Rogan said he believed Danis had provoked Khabib, resulting in a brawl outside the octagon.

This brawl spilled inside of the octagon with two of Khabib’s team mates jumping the fence and attacking Conor McGregor. Three of Khabib’s team mates had since been arrested and taken to jail but later released as McGregor refused to press charges.

UFC duel Champion Daniel Cormier attempted to calm down the fired up Khabib Nurmagomedov who was then escorted out of the arena by security. Dana White told Khabib he would not be wrapping the belt around his waist and the result was announced with both men missing from the cage.

An investigation by NSAC is underway and they are currently withholding Khabib’s purse. This was no doubt a terrible moment for the sport with serious repercussions for Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Stay tuned for more updates on the situation.
