Kelvin Gastelum has been cleared to face Tim Kennedy at UFC 206 after he was suspended by the New York Athletic Commission for not showing up to the UFC 205 weigh-ins back in November. He has agreed to a $2,000 fine instead of a six month suspension according to a report by MMAFighting.com.
Gastelum failed to make weight at UFC 205 and was due to face ‘Cowboy’ Donald Cerrone. The bout was cancelled and he will now face Tim Kennedy on December 10th in Toronto, Canada. Kennedy was also unable to fight at UFC 205 due to his opponent Rashad Evans unable to get medically cleared by the commission due to heath reasons.
This bout will take place at Middleweight and is headlined by a Featherweight Interim title fight between Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis.
