Josh Barnett “Im sure a heavyweight championship fight could be in the future”

Josh Barnett is coming off a round 3 submission win over Andrei Arlovski at UFC Fight Night Hamburg. With the current Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic defending his belt soon against Alistair Overeem, the former UFC heavyweight champion and MMA veteran Josh Barnett speaks about his position in the current heavyweight division, “Guys like me or Andrei we’ve already won belts” he said. “We’re always ready to take the challenge and its always acceptable for us to be in the title fight. If Overeem got injured out of no where or some what, Andrei, myself, whom ever, there are some of us out there that can slide right in and fight in that match and that would be completely legitimate”.

Barnett remains focused on taking it one fight at a time with his focus on the lead up to this fight being solely on taking Andrei Arlovski seriously but he didn’t rule out the possibility of fighting again for the title. “Im sure a Heavyweight championship fight could be in the future but right now, all I was concerned with was fighting Andrei”.
