A match up between former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and Cub Swanson is currently in the works. The news was reported by Brazilian outlet Combate who predicted the fight to take place at UFC 233 in Anaheim this coming January. The report was later denied by Cub Swanson via his twitter account but he expressed and interest in facing Aldo in febuary for UFC’s debut event on ESPN.
I love this fight but unfortunately somebody spoke too soon. I am not fighting on 233 but I am willing to do it February 17th on ESPN 1

If a date does get booked, it will see the pair go at it once more after their first fight in WEC back in 2009. Aldo took away the victory with a TKO in just 8 seconds, which then saw him progress onto winning the WEC title next.
Jose Aldo (27-4) is currently coming off a win over Jeremy Stephens at UFC Calgary in July. He won the bout via 1st round TKO, putting him back into the win column after suffering two straight losses to the current champ Max Holloway.
Cub Swanson (25-10) is on a three fight losing streak with losses to title contender Brian Ortega, former Champion Frankie Edgar and most recently, Renato Moicano. His last win was back in April 2017 when he took away a decision win over Artem Lobov in the main event at UFC Nashville.
