Jon Jones suspended Anthony Johnson to face Daniel Cormier at UFC 187

UFC have made the decision to strip Jon Jones of the UFC Light-Heavyweight Championship and suspend him indefinitely due to his Legal troubles with the hit and run incident he was involved in that took place in Albuquerque sunday morning. The news was broken on FOX Sports live this past Tuesday.

Dana White also confirmed that he does not know whats going to happen with regards to Jon Jones future in the UFC.

Top contender Anthony Johnson is set to take on Daniel Cormier for the now vacant Light-Heavyweight Championship at UFC 187 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas May 23.

Anthony Johnson has a record of 19-4 and since his return to the UFC is riding a 3 fight win streak. Johnson’s most recent win was over top Light-Heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on FOX 14 via TKO punches this past January.

Daniel Cormier has a record of 15-1 and has won three of his last four fights. Cormier last competed against the now former champion Jon Jones at UFC 182, where he lost a unanimous decision this past January.
