Jon Jones pleads guilty, avoids jail time for hit and run incident

The former Light-Heavyweight Champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones has avoided jail time following court hearing today. Jones pleaded guilty for felony charge for hit-and-run accident that took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The hit-and-run accident involved three cars. According to Bernalillo County Metro Detention Centre Records, Jones was then arrested on a felony charge after turning himself in .The Victim who was pregnant at the time broke her arm. Jones ran a red light crashing into the victims vehicle and fled from the scene on foot.

At the court hearing the New Mexico District Court Judge Charles Brown ruled on the case with Jones for the plea hearing. The judge confirmed that Jones will be granted a conditional release with up to 18 months of supervised probation. Jon Jones took full responsibility for the charges and he would not be convicted of a felony charge.

At the hearing Jones stated:

“I want to apologize to Ms. Sonnenberg’s team, all the officers who were involved that day, all the people who support me who I’ve embarrassed, my family, my supporters, mainly Vanessa Sonnenberg and her family for all the heartache I must have put them through, I am here to accept full responsibility for what happened, for my actions, and I’m just really hoping you guys can give me the opportunity to redeem myself.”

Dana White was also in attendance in support of Jon Jones.
