Jon Jones blasts Daniel Cormier “Conor McGregor was an actual double champ”

Jon Jones continued the heated rivalry between himself and Daniel Cormier in his latest twitter rant. In the posts Jon Jones calls for Daniel Cormier to face him one last time before he retires from the sport and downplays his double champ status.

The pair first fought at UFC 182 in 2015 with Jones handing Cormier his first professional loss via unanimous decision. Jones later found himself in trouble with the law and with USADA resulting in him being stripped of the UFC Lightheavyweight title. A rematch was first scheduled for UFC 200 in 2016 but Jones was pulled due to a failed drugs test. They didn’t face off again till UFC 214 in 2017 with Jon Jones recapturing the title once more. Jones however was later stripped for second time with the title returned to DC.

“Fight me one more time and prove you’re actually the champ champ. I’ll donate $100,000 to a charity in San Diego if you accept. Conor McGregor was an actual double Champ, the whole world knows your claim is a freaking joke. You’re more than welcome to be my first title defense.”

Jones will return to the octagon this December in a rematch against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232. The bout will be for the vacant Lightheavyweight title, recently vacated by Daniel Cormier.

“Pinch of salt, no pinch of salt. You still had steroids in your system in a fist fight,” Cormier stated. “Not cool.”

“Daddys baby still out there whining, What proud “double Champion” just vacates his belt because someone else returns to the sport? 😩”

Daniel Cormier is expected to defend his Heavyweight title against Brock Lesnar in the new year but with Cormier reaching retirement, Jon Jones seems eager to secure a rubber match before it’s too late.
