Johnny Walker ready for Jon Jones “I will give him a proper fight”

MMA Crazy reporter Louise Green caught up with Brazilian Light Heavyweight Johnny Walker in London.

Walker suffered an injury during his post fight victory celebration following his TKO win over Misha Cirkunov at UFC 235. Now recovering from shoulder surgery, Johnny Walker said he will be ready to return to the octagon this September. “I have some names in mind, the UFC gave me some events, some dates but they want to put me in the main event at UFC Uruguay 10th August but it was too soon for me, I need a little bit more time. I can fight without one shoulder but it’s better to be 100%.”

Johnny Walker lists UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi as a possibility, with the likes of Corey Anderson and other top ranked Light Heavyweight’s on his radar. “I need big names now, if I want to beat Jon Jones who is the champion already then I have to go higher in the rankings.”

Walker doesn’t mind who is put in front of him next, as long as they are ranked in the top ten of the division. “I’ll beat them easy, I’m ready for Jon Jones. I just need to beat them, I’m ready. I’ve just recovered my shoulder but I’ll be there soon.”

Jon Jones is considered one of the best pound for pound champions in the UFC, but Johnny Walker wants to make history as the first to dethrone the Light Heavyweight champ. “I want to fight against him because I’m sure it’s going to be a very good fight. I want to make history as well you know. This guy beat everyone else in the Light Heavyweight division, I want to beat this guy.”

“When people go up against him, people are scared. I have no fear, I’m not scared. I will just enjoy myself and be happy in the fight as always and have no problem. I will give him a proper fight.”
