Joanna Jędrzejczyk vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz set for UFC 205

The UFC have confirmed that UFC Strawweight Champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk will defend her title against fellow Polish Strawweight Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 205, November 12th at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk (12-0) is undefeated with 4 of her wins coming by KO or TKO. She is coming off a decision victory over fellow TUF coach Claudia Gadelha which saw an end to their bitter rivalry on the show. She won the title back at UFC 185 when she defeated Carla Esparza by a second round TKO. since then, she has successfully defended her belt three times.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz (10-0) is also undefeated. She made her UFC debut back in December last year where she won by decision over Randa Markos. Since then she has won another two bouts by decision with the most recent being a split decision win over Rose Namajunas, landing her a shot at the belt.

This event will be the first time the UFC have put on a show since the ban on MMA was lifted. The main event for this card is still to be announced.
