Dana White has confirmed that Jessica Andrade will get the next shot at the UFC Womans Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Dana White spoke to FOX Sports after UFC On FOX 104 ended in Houston, Texas this past weekend. He confirmed that number one contender, Jessica Andrade will get the next shot at the UFC Womans Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Andrade took on Invicta FC Champion Angela Hill at UFC On FOX 104 and went the distance, dominating the Invicta champ with a barrage of heavy striking. “I mean when you see the way she fought tonight, just imagine those two squaring off in there. The absolute war that will be,” Dana White said about the future match up between Andrade and Jedrzejczyk.
Andrade is now riding a three fight win streak with two of those wins coming via stoppages within the second round. Formally competing in the 135lbs division, Andrade made the decision to drop down to 115lbs after losing to Raquel Pennington by submission at UFC 191 in 2015.
The champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk is coming off a unanimous decision win over fellow polish Strawweight, Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 205 in New York. She has successfully defended her title four times with two of the wins coming via TKO. Still undefeated, the champ recently made the move to train at American Top Team and will now defend her belt once again against Jessica Andrade.
