Jacare Souza will take on Tim Boetsch at UFC 208 this February 11th in Brooklyn. The news was confirmed first by Newsday.
The number three ranked Middleweight, Jacare is currently 23-4-1 and is coming off a first round TKO win over fellow Brazilian fighter Vitor Belfort at UFC 198. He was then scheduled to face Luke Rockhold at UFC Fight Night 101 but Rockhold was forced to withdraw last minute due to injury and Souza was removed from the card. Jacare suffered his last loss to number one contender Yoel Romero back at UFC 194 by split decision. Prior to that, he had been on a five fight win streak in the UFC.
Tim Boetsch is currently 20-10 and is coming off a first round KO win over Rafael Natal at UFC 205. Previously to that he had won a TKO victory over the late Josh Samman at UFC Fight Night 91 last July. These two wins had put a stop to a three fight loosing streak which included a first round KO loss to Dan Henderson.
This event is headlined by a UFC Woman’s Featherweight title fight between Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie.
