Jacare Souza spoke to the media ahead of his upcoming fight against Robert Whittaker at UFC On FOX 24 this weekend. In his post workout media scrum Jacare speaks about his will to fight and not wait for a title shot. “I can not sit in my home and wait for Bisping because Bisping, he’s a disaster for the middleweight division.” He said.
Michael Bisping is scheduled to face returning former UFC welterweight champion George St Pierre some time this year. This leaves middleweight title contender Yoel Romero sitting on the sidelines while he waits for the next shot at the belt.
Jacare Souza believes that Bisping’s choice to face GSP instead of the true title contender is holding up the middleweight division.
“He stopped the whole middleweight division. We need to fight, me, Romero, Luke, Mousasi. We need to stay in the octagon, it’s the best and fight for the title because Bisping, he does not fight. He does not fight through any tough opponent, he’s afraid.”
No. 3 ranked middleweight Jacare Souza will take on the No. 6 ranked Robert Whittaker this weekend in the last fight on his current UFC contract.
