As reported by The Las Vegas Review Journal, Gray Maynard and Teruto Ishihara are set to go head to head at The TUF Redemption Finale July 7, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Gray Maynard (12-6-1) last fought back in December at The TUF 24 Finale, loosing by unanimous decision to Ryan Hall. Previously to that, Maynard had made his Featherweight debut against Fernando Bruno last July, winning by unanimous decision. The former Lightweight title challenger had suffered four back to back losses at Lightweight before making the decision to drop down a weight class to Featherweight. These losses came by the likes of Nate Diaz, Ross Pearson and TJ Grant in a Lightweight title eliminator.
Teruto Ishihara (9-3-2) last fought at UFC Fight Night 99 back in November, loosing to Artem Lobov by unanimous decision. The Team Alpha Male fighter had previously been on a two fight win streak with both wins coming via first and second round knock outs. Ishihara is currently 2-1-1 in the UFC and will face a highly experienced Gray Maynard this time around.
The UFC are still yet to confirm details of this bout. The Ultimate Fighter Redemption season is currently airing and the Finale will take place during international fight week, one day before UFC 213.
