Claudia Gadelha vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz set for UFC 212

The UFC have confirmed that Claudia Gadelha will take on Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro, June 3rd.

Claudia Gadelha (14-2) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Cortney Casey at UFC Fight Night 100 back in November. Previously to that, Gadelha had lost to UFC Womens Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale this past summer. She lost the championship bout by unanimous decision after a long rivalry between the two stemming from their time on the reality TV show as a rival coaches. This was her second time loosing to the champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk with their first bout in 2014 resulting in a split decision. Gadelha has won two out of her last four fights.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz (10-1) is coming off a loss to the champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 205 in November. She lost the bout by unanimous decision resulting in her first professional loss. Kowalkiewicz had won all three of her wins in the UFC before her title shot by split or unanimous decision. Previous to her last fight, she had won a split decision victory over Rose Namajunas at UFC 201.

This bout is headlined by a UFC Featherweight title fight between the Champion Jose Aldo and the Interim Champion Max Holloway.
