It was announced during the airing of Bellator: Dynamite 1 that Fedor Emelianenko will make his return in Japan on a New Years Eve card that will be aired on Spike tv.
Former PRIDE head Nobuyuki Sakakibara has also made his return as Fedor will headline his new promotions first event. Bellator will partner with the new promotion and will have some of its roster taking part in the event.
Spike President Kevin Kay said in a statement .“We are thrilled to join forces with Nobuyuki Sakakibara and our partner, Bellator President Scott Coker, to give MMA fans a big reason to celebrate this New Year’s Eve: Fedor fighting for free on Spike,”
There had been speculation surrounding what promotion Fedor will sign to, many believing he would make his return to The UFC. This event in Japan will see the Russian compete again since retiring from MMA in 2012. Other details such as his opponent are yet to be confirmed.
