It has been reported by Brett Okamoto that Donald Cerrone will face Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 205, Nov 12th at Madison Square Garden.
Brett Okamoto confirmed the news with UFC president Dana White who confirmed that the bout has been agreed.
‘Cowboy’ Cerrone (31-7-1) was originally due to face former Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler but Lawler recently withdrew from the bout. Cerrone has been on a tear recently after moving to welterweight in February. All three of his latest fights at welterweight have ended in finishes with his most recent win being a 2nd round TKO over Rick Story. This will be his fourth fight this year.
Kelvin Gastelum (12-2) is coming off a recent decision victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC 200 in July. Previously to that he had lost to Neil Magny by split decision this past November. He has fought both at middleweight and welterweight and has won 2 out of his last 4 fights.
This fight will take place at Madison Square Garden. This will be the first event held by the UFC in New York City since the ban on MMA was lifted. More bouts for this card are due to be announced in the coming weeks.
