Derrick Lewis wins by KO at UFC Halifax

Derrick Lewis defeated Travis Browne by second round KO in the main event of UFC Halifax this past Sunday.

Derrick Lewis dropped the Hawaiian with a big right hand and followed up with vicious ground and pound. The bout was stopped at a time of 3:12 into the second round.

In his octagon interview, Lewis said that he wants some time off after only having a two month turnaround since his last fight back in December. Lewis now moves to 18-4-1 with back to back wins and now riding a six fight win streak, five of those wins by TKO/KO.

Ranked number 8 in the division at the time, Derrick Lewis said in his back stage interview that he would be looking for a top ten or top five opponent next but did not call out any names.

“There’s still a lot of stuff I need to work on, improve on and stuff like that, my conditioning and stuff like that. Right now I just want some time off but you know whoever is the top five guys or top ten guys I’m willing to step in a fight them, it doesn’t matter who they are.”
