Dana White says Darren Till vs Stephen Thompson set for Feb. 24 in England

UFC President Dana White has announced that Darren Till will take on Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson Feb. 24 in England.

The news was reported by Lance Pugmire of the LA Times during a Q&A. White said he would be moving his UFC Orlando card to England but did not confirm if that would be in Till’s hometown of Liverpool.

The UFC have already confirmed a date in London, England scheduled for March 17. However Darren Till had been calling for the UFC to come to his hometown of Liverpool after his win over Donald Cerrone this past October in Poland.

Till (16-0-1) is still undefeated with one draw on his record. He made a big impression last October when he defeated top ten ranked Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone by first round TKO in the main event in Poland. Darren Till has had five fights in the UFC and has shot up the Welterweight rankings calling for a fight with ‘Wonderboy’ next.

Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson (14-2-1) is ranked No. 2 in the UFC Welterweight division. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 217 this past November. Previously to that, ‘Wonderboy’ had drew and then lost to the current Champion Tyron Woodley in two bouts that went the distance.

Darren Till and Stephen Thompson will now go at it this February with the location still to be announced.
