Both hometown fighters missed weight at the official weigh ins, Saturday morning. UFC Flyweight Molly McCann weighed in at 127lbs, ten minutes before the end of the weigh in window. She was given one hour to cut the extra one pound but failed to do so when weighing in for the second and final time.
UFC Liverpool headliner Darren Till failed to make the weigh in window but UFC officials confirmed that Darren Till had been given one extra hour to weigh in due to a family emergency. Darren Till did make the scales, but weighed in at 174.5lbs, over the Welterweight limit.
After talks with Wonderboy and his team an agreement was made allowing the fight to continue. Darren Till however cannot weigh over 188lbs at 1 pm tomorrow. He will also forfeit 30 percent of his purse to Wonderboy.
Molly McCann issued a statement. That fight will also go ahead.
I won’t give you an excuse, I have never missed weight in 29 fights, and today is the first time I have. On my part I’d like to apologise to Gillian @savage_ufc for missing weight, I didn’t give up, I stayed cutting until the final moment. I would also like to apologise to the fans. No excuses, the fight goes a head and tomorrow I get to make up for the lack of professionalism today.
