The UFC have confirmed that UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will defend his belt against Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson in a rematch at UFC 210.
Daniel Cormier (18-1) last fought at UFC 200. He was scheduled to rematch the returning Jon Jones but Jones was pulled from the bout at the last minute due to an anti doping violation. This put the historic UFC 200 event in jeopardy but Anderson Silva quickly stepped up and Cormier won by Unanimous decision. A rematch with Anthony Johnson was first scheduled to take place at UFC 206 but Cormier withdrew due to injury. Their first bout took place at UFC 187 in 2015 which resulted in Cormier winning by rear naked choke in the third round, taking home the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Title.
Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson (22-5) is coming off a quick first round KO over Glover Teixeira at UFC 202 in August. This has now resulted in three straight KO victories over the likes of Ryan Bader and Jimi Manuwa, all ending within the second round. His last loss was to Daniel Cormier at UFC 187 which put a stop to his three fight win streak in his return to the UFC.
This bout is scheduled for the main event at UFC 210, April 8th. The event will take place at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
