Cole Miller to step in and face BJ Penn at UFC 199

Cole Miller will now take on BJ Penn, as Penn’s original opponent Dennis Siver withdrew due to injury. The bout will take place at UFC 199 in Inglewood California.

Cole Miller has an MMA record of 21-9 and 1 no contest. He has a UFC record of 10-7 and 1 no contest. His last fight against Jim Alers resulted as a no contest due to an accidental eye poke in the second round that saw Miller unable to continue. Previously to that Miller has lost to Max Holloway by unanimous decision in February last year. This loss put a stop to his two fight win streak which included a 2nd round submission win over Sam Sicilia and a unanimous decision win over Andy Ogle. Cole Miller had been a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 5 which featured coaches Jens Pulver and PJ Penn. Miller fought under team Pulver and won his fight at the finale by 1st TKO earning himself a knock out of the night bonus.




Former UFC Lightweight and Welterweight Champion BJ Penn has a MMA record of 16-10-2 and a UFC record of 13-9-1. Penn holds notable wins over Diego Sanchez, Matt Hughes, Kenny Florian, Caol Uno, Sean Sherk and Jens Pulver. He currently has 3 losses in a row with his latest fight being a TKO loss in round 3 to Frankie Edgar at the TUF Finale back in 2014. After 18 months away from the sport, BJ Penn will return again to compete at featherweight this time fighting under Jacksons.

This card is headlined by a title fight against UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold and former champion Chris Weidman in a rematch.
