It looks like fans will have to wait for the debut of former WWE superstar CM Punk as it has been reported by MMA Fighting that he will need back surgery.
CM Punk has had previous back problems as a result from his wrestling career which has spanned over a number of years and it seems that the injury is worse.
CM Punk told MMA Fighting:
“My back has always bugged me, Figured it was just wrestling sh*t. Turns out it was. It got bad enough to the point where I couldn’t do anything the week before I went to train with the New Jersey Devils last month. One day I could manage, the next day I couldn’t. I’ve been in agony for almost a month. Chiropractor, acupuncture, massage, cryotherapy … nothing worked.”
CM Punk was expected to take on 24 year old Mickey Gall who has a 2-0 MMA record at UFC event to be determined but this has definitely put a halt on those plans at this present moment.
“This is just a bump in the road,” he said. “I’m positive about this.”
