It was announced on sports centre that the co-main event will be Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman who will set to take on Luke Rockhold at UFC 194 December 12th at the MGM in Las Vegas, a card headlined by Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and Interim Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor.
Current champ Chris Weidman has a MMA record of 13-0 and is 9-0 in the UFC. Weidman has notable wins over Anderson Silva (twice), Lyoto Machida, Mark Munoz and Demian Maia just to name a few. Weidman’s latest victory was over was MMA veteran Vitor Belfort via TKO punches in Round 1 at UFC 187 this past May.
Luke Rockhold has record of 14-2 and is riding a four fight win streak with all fights ending via a finish in the first and second rounds. The former Strikeforce middleweight Champion has notable wins over Michael Bisping, Tim Kennedy,Tim Boetsch and Jacaré Souza. His latest win was against Lyoto Machida via submission rear naked choke in round 2 at UFC on FOX 15. Many was calling for Rockhold to get a title shot including himself and it looks like he got his wish.
