Carlos Condit will return to the octagon after just over a year out. He will go up against No. 10 ranked Welterweight Neil Magny at UFC 219 in Las Vegas, December 30th.
Carlos Condit (30-10) had previously won the UFC Welterweight interim title when he beat Nick Diaz by unanimous decision back at UFC 143 in 2012. Unable to go on and unify the title against Johny Hendricks, he went on to win just two fights out of his next five fights.
Carlos Condit had suffered two straight losses before deciding to step away from MMA for a year. Those included a loss to Robbie Lawler by split decision at UFC 195 for the title once again. Now having had a year out, Carlos Condit recently reached out to UFC match maker Sean Shelby via his social media and will get his wish, stepping into the octagon again at the UFC’s end of year card in Las Vegas.
what’s up big guy…? I’m wanting to fight in December or January… what say you!?

Neil Magny (19-5) is currently coming off a first round submission loss to the former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 215 this past September. Previously to that, Magny had won a unanimous decision win over the former UFC Welterweight Champion Johny Hendricks at UFC 207. Neil Magny had won three out of his last five fights and will be looking to bounce back from his last loss when he takes on No. 7 ranked Carlos Condit.
This event will take place at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, December 30th. Other bouts already confirmed for the card include a match up between former Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz and Jimmie Rivera. The main event has yet to be announced.
