Bryan Barberena Replaces Andrew Holbrook And Faces Sage Northcutt At Welterweight

The UFC have announced that Andrew Holbrook has suffered an injury and is out of his upcoming fight against Sage Northcutt at UFC On FOX: Johnson vs. Bader, Jan 30th. Holbrook has been replaced by Bryan Barberena and this fight will now take place in the welterweight division instead of the previous being at lightweight.

Sage Northcutt (7-0) is coming off a second round guillotine choke win over Cody Pfister back in December. He is currently 2-0 in the UFC after a spectacular first round TKO victory at his debut in October last year. Northcutt was a product of the new ‘Dana White Looking for a fight’ series and was signed to the UFC after being discovered.

Bryan Barberena (10-3) is coming off a loss to Chad Laprise at UFC 186 where he lost by a decision. Previous to that loss, he had a successful debut earning himself a third round TKO win over Joe Ellenberger at UFC On FOX 13 in Dec 2014. Barberena is currently 1-1 in the UFC.

This bout is headlined by Anthony Johnson vs Ryan Bader and will take place Jan 30th at the Prudential Center in Newark New Jersey.
