Brad Pickett reflects on his career and last fight at UFC London

Brad Pickett made his last walk to the octagon in front of his home town crowd at UFC London. After a long and successful career in MMA and the UFC, Pickett finally hung up his gloves in the city his career started in.

Marlon Vera stepped up on short notice after Pickett’s original opponent, Henry Briones withdrew. Unfortunately for Brad Pickett he was unable to come away with a win that night and was stopped in the third round by TKO.

In his post fight press conference, Pickett spoke to the media about his career in the sport, reflecting on favourite moments and leading the way for the new generation of British fighters. “The UK MMA scene is in a great place and if I’ve been some kind of part of it then I can say Im happy,” he said.

“I live by the sword die by the sword,” he said when explaining his loss to Marlon Vera. Pickett said he has no regrets and was adamant to put on an exciting fight for the fans in London that night, he was just unable to get the fairy tale ending that he wanted.
