Bobby Lashley is looking for a big named fight like Fedor Emelianenko

Ballator announced at their London Press conference this past Tuesday that Bobby Lashley will compete at Bellator 179 in London this May. He spoke to MMA Crazy reporter Louise Green after the press conference and spoke about his busy schedule, wanting a big named fight against someone like Fedor Emelianenko and competing in both Bellator MMA and in professional wrestling promotion TNA.

“The thing that I always say is you only live once and that whole ‘YOLO’ you only live once and because of that I try to do everything that I can right now because sooner or later Im not going to be able to do this anymore,” he said about juggling MMA and TNA. “Im an older athlete right now but I still have a lot of fight left in me, I have a lot of fight left in me, I have a lot of wrestling left in me, I have a lot of ability left in me so Im going to do everything that I can for as long as I can”.

Bobby Lashley predicts he will still be competing in MMA for another two or three years and wrestling for another ten to fifteen years. He said he was honoured to see fellow Wrestler and the one that introduced him to wrestling, Kurt Angle get inducted into the WWE hall of fame. “Kurt deserves it more than anyone else,” he said. “I personally believe Kurt was at his prime the best in the business and the best the business has ever had.”

Lashley said his intentions within Bellator are to get big name fights and Fedor Emelianenko is still top of his list. “I said you know you guys (Bellator) are looking for a fight for Fedor and you guys are overlooking me. I can’t raise my hand any higher than this, but you guys are over looking me and I don’t know why.”

Fedor is rescheduled to face Matt Mitrione due to their first fight being unable to happen. Lashley said if Fedor Emelianenko wins that fight then that would be a fight he would be interested in. “Right now I would like to fight somebody that makes sense so a big named fight and Fedor is definitely a big named fight,” He said. In a toss up between choosing between a title fight or a fight with Fedor, Lashley said, “which one has more money, I think Fedor might have more money, so the more money.”
