The UFC has confirmed that it will return to the Philippines October 15th for UFC Fight Night Penn vs Lamas.
Former UFC Lightweight and Welterweight Champion BJ Penn has a MMA record of 16-10-2 and a UFC record of 13-9-1. Penn holds notable wins over Diego Sanchez, Matt Hughes, Kenny Florian, Caol Uno, Sean Sherk and Jens Pulver. He currently has 3 losses in a row with his latest fight being a TKO loss in round 3 to Frankie Edgar at the TUF Finale back in 2014.
BJ Penn was recently pulled from his last scheduled fight against Cole Miller at UFC 199, June 4th due to a potential anti doping violation. Penn had disclosed the use of an IV and according to his statement, said he was unaware of the ban. BJ Penn will now return again to compete at featherweight this time fighting under Jacksons.
Ricardo Lamas has an MMA record of 16-5 and a UFC record of 7-3. He is coming off a decision loss to Max Holloway at UFC 199 this past June. Prior to that he had won a decision over Diego Sanchez in November last year. He has won 2 out of his last 4 fights.
