Anderson Silva expressed his frustration at the UFC yesterday in an interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour.
Anderson Silva was expected to face Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 212 in Brazil this June but Gastelum was pulled from the bout due to testing positive for marijuana.
Still without an opponent, the ‘Spider’ spoke of his disappointment for his fellow Brazilian fans who have paid money to watch him fight. “This is not my problem for Gastelum to go out of the fight,” he said according to MMAFighting.com. “This is not my problem. My problem is training hard for fight in Brazil for my fans. What happens to my fans now ? What happens to the people who paid to see my fight in Brazil. This is the second time this happened, I’m tired of this.”
For Anderson, no other fight but Yoel Romero for the UFC Middleweight interim title make sense to him and if that isn’t what he gets, then he is prepared to retire. “This is perfect bullshit,” he continued. “I’m tired, I’m so tired. I’m respectful long time, everything, I never talk about bad situations in UFC… I think I’m done.”
Yoel Romero joined Anderson Silva on the phone during the MMA Hour and the two verbally agreed to fight, but only for an interim title. If that cannot happen then Yoel said he will wait for the winner of GSP and Michael Bisping and for Anderson Silva, unfortunately he said he will retire.
